Children with Specific Learning Difficulties, in spite of their normal mental capability, encounter difficulties in vocabulary learning, mathematics, writing, speaking or motor coordination. Such problems emerged in kindergartens. Although the majority of children were diagnosed with specific learning difficulties in junior primary school, no tailor-made training is provided until one year later.
Sponsored by the Community Chest, a support programme for children with specific learning difficulties will be launched by Heep Hong Society in September 2011 to offer timely professional training to those children in primary school for enhancement of their learning abilities and social skills. Professional consultation and workshops will also be provided to parents of those children to help tackle the difficulties facing their children.
