The primary school preparatory programme has been held for 2 consecutive years by the Supportive Learning Project of Heep Hong Society. After taking the programme, children exhibited a remarkable improvement, and parents became more confident of their children's adaptability to primary school.
The forthcoming annual programme intend to achieve the following objectives:
- prolonging the effect of pre-school training and strengthening children's concentration and learning capability;
- enhancing children’s adaptability to the routine of the primary school life and rules in classes;
- augmenting children's emotional management and social skills.
The programme is stragetically devised by Heep Hong Society's professional team led by an educational psychologist, and jointly conducted by an experienced child-care worker & a social worker. Modeling on the mode of studying in primary school, subjects of Chinese language, English, mathematics, general studies, music, physical education, visual arts and growth and morning assembly will be included to enhance children's global development.
The programme is open for application by children with autism or Asperger Syndrome who will be attending mainstream primary schools in 2011.
