Two Academic Programmes Held with Open University of Hong Kong Recognised by Social Welfare Department

The two academic programmes jointly held by the Open University of Hong Kong and Heep Hong Society, namely The Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Special Educational Needs) and Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (Special Educational Needs), have been recognized by the Social Welfare Department as the equivalent to the One-year In-service Course in Special Child Care Work. Child care workers who have completed the programmes above will be entitled to fee reimbursement. Such recognition is of great significance in equipping child care workers with professional knowledge and skills.

Two of the four core modules developed by experienced psychologists and therapists of Heep Hong Society will commence in October 2012, namely Teaching Pre-school Children at Risk of Dyslexia (EDUE282C) and Language Delay and Training (EDUE386C), and be open for application from June 2012. Scholarship awards will be provided by Heep Hong Society. Please stay tuned for further details.
