The ‘Pre-writing Fun Journey’ iPad application of Heep Hong Society was presented with the ‘Best Digital Inclusion (Product / Application) Certificate of Merit’ in Hong Kong ICT Awards 2014 steered by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer in recognition of its effectiveness in laying solid foundations for the development of handwriting skills of children of different abilities.
The app was designed by the Occupational Therapy Team of Heep Hong to develop the essential pre-writing skills of children aged 3-6 with developmental delay. Centering on the theme of an amusement park, 720 interactive games were devised under six categories to cover the essential pre-writing components of visual-perceptual and visual-motor coordination abilities. Activities classified into three difficulty levels serve to meet the different learning needs of children with developmental delay and their normal peers, and motivate them to learn handwriting.
The ‘Pre-writing Fun Journey’ iPad app is available for downloading from Apple iTunes Store by entering key words, such as ‘Heep Hong Society’ or ‘Pre-writing Fun Journey’. Embark on your Pre-writing Fun Journey here.
