Island Shangri-La Hong Kong has recently become a corporate partner of Heep Hong Society. At the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held on 30 November 2009, the Hotel announced its partnership with Heep Hong, and made a donation of HK$400,000 to the Society in support of its quality services to children with special needs and their families.

At the ceremony, Mrs Selina Tsang, Patron of Heep Hong Society and Dr Henry Au-Yeung, Chairman of the Society’s Executive Committee, received a cheque for HK$400,000 from Mr Darren Gearing, Area Manager & General Manager of the Hotel. The funds were raised from the charity auction of an exclusive collection case of wines at the PFV Gala Dinner held by the Hotel earlier. As a token of gratitude, Heep Hong children presented hand-made Christmas cards to Mr Gearing and Mrs Tsang, and sang Christmas carols on the occasion.

Island Shangri-La Hong Kong also provided voluntary services on Heep Hong’s Flag Day. The Society would like to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt thanks to the Hotel for their staunch support towards the welfare of children with special needs.
