Hong Kong Preschool Fine Motor Developmental Assessment (HK-PFMDA) is the first-ever standardised assessment tool in Chinese developed on the basis of the normative data from local children. It is especially for occupational therapists to carry out assessment on the fine motor development of preschool children aged up to six, and identify the baseline for intervention to enhance children’s everyday occupations in self-care, play and learning.
In collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a seminar was held by Heep Hong Society in June last year to report and share the findings of its research on “Hong Kong Preschool Fine Motor Developmental Assessment”. The HK-PFMDA Tools Package was produced in last December and distributed to institutions.
To help occupational therapists in the field to grasp the assessment procedures, methods, scoring criteria, recording, calculating the scores, and interpretation of the assessment results, the Hong Kong Preschool Fine Motor Developmental Assessment (HK-PFMDA) Assessment Workshop will be held by Heep Hong Society in March.
