This year’s Cook-Off was a huge success with Heep Hong children, celebrity, Michelin-starred chefs and Great Chefs Ambassador Mr. Nick Cheung coming together under one roof. Children and chefs collaborated in cake decoration to kick off the imminent 23rd Great Chefs of Hong Kong event to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 14th May.
Director of Heep Hong Society, Nancy Tsang, said, 'At present, there is a drastic shortage of government subvented pre-school rehabilitation services. The average waiting period is as long as 15 months, and some families cannot afford private services. Those children with special needs would unfortunately miss the golden opportunity to receive the training they urgently need. The community plays a major role in helping the children who are on the waiting list. Generous public donations will enable us to sustain our services and provide timely intervention for the children at the earliest stage possible. The funds raised from Great Chefs will go to our five Parents Resource Centres, which provide holistic training and support services to thousands of children and their families every year. We look forward to welcoming you to this joyful and meaningful evening in support of the welfare of children with special needs.'
The Great Chefs of Hong Kong is Heep Hong Society’s annual fundraiser. This 14th May, over 40 top chefs of renowned hotels and restaurants have been invited to take the Society’s patrons and foodies on a gastronomic journey to celebrate the event theme of Global Flavors.
